Lee County Libraries is part of NC Cardinal:

NC Cardinal is a consortium of public libraries in North Carolina dedicated to sharing resources and expanding opportunities through the use of a single online catalog. Your library card works at ANY participating library to:

  • Discover materials not owned by your library
  • Borrow materials from any NC Cardinal library
  • Renew materials
  • View your account
  • Place holds online for items from any NC Cardinal library; materials are sent to YOUR pickup library.

Borrowing:

Lee County Library patrons will be able to check out up to 50 items on their card. Only 7 DVDs and 7 Audiobooks may be checked out to a card at a time.

The library will assess fines to patrons who fail to return library materials on or before their due date. Accumulated fines of greater than five dollars will result in the suspension of borrowing privileges until they are paid.

Fines for overdue books and audiobooks are $.25 per day (for a maximum of $5.00 per item). Overdue DVDs fines are $1.00 per item, per day. Library accounts are blocked once they reach a $5.00 balance.

Items overdue for six (6) weeks are marked lost by the patron. Patrons will be charged the cost of replacing the item plus an additional$1.00 processing fee. If the item is returned after marked lost, the lost fee will be reversed and the patron will be assessed the maximum $5.00 fine. If an item is found after a lost fee is paid, the patron can keep the material or "donate" it to the library. We do not offer refunds or credits.
