Become a Library Card Holder:

All community members are eligible for a library card at the Lee County Libraries. Lee County Libraries is part of the NC Cardinal Consortium.

What is NC Cardinal?

NC Cardinal is a consortium of public libraries in North Carolina dedicated to sharing resources and expanding opportunities through the use of a single online catalog. Your library card works at ANY participating library to:

  • Discover materials not owned by your library
  • Borrow materials from any NC Cardinal library
  • Renew materials
  • View your account
  • Place holds online for items from any NC Cardinal library; materials are sent to YOUR pickup library.

What you will need:

Proof of your address (like a driver’s license, state ID, or official piece of mail). For library card patrons under the age of 18, the library will require a guardian's approval.

Lee County Library patrons will be able to check out up to 25 items at a time. DVDs and Audiobooks are limited to 7 at a time.

The library will assess fines to patrons who fail to return library materials on or before their due date. Accumulated fines of greater than five dollars will result in the suspension of borrowing privileges until they are paid.

Fines for overdue books, cds, and audiobooks are $.25 per day (for a maximum of $5.00). DVDs are $1.00 per day late.

For items that are not returned, patrons will be charged the cost of replacing the item plus an additional $10.00 processing fee.
