Lee County Libraries has been serving the community for generations!
We are extremely excited to share our new project with you!
What is next on the timeline?
While our contractors are hard at work constructing the building, we are focused on selecting the interior details!
We celebrated our official groundbreaking for the Lee County New Main Library Project on Friday, November 22nd, 2024. The ceremony took place on the building site located at 1740 Bragg Street in Sanford. The site is located behind the State Employee’s Credit Union and adjacent to O.T. Sloan Park. Next steps are the building project itself along with interior selections for furniture, shelving, and displays. SAMET and Sanford Contractors are leading this project as our CMR working alongside our amazing architects from VINES Architecture. The Lee County Government team, including Library staff and county administration, actively oversees all aspects of the project to ensure our public library serves the people of Lee County. We are grateful for the dedication, hard work, and strong community support which has made this project possible. Thank you!
